8th July 2017

As I sit and write this update it is the morning after the deadline for responses to the Early Engagement Community Survey.  As not all surveys have been collected from the various drop off points yet it is hard to be certain what the response has been – but initial signs look promising.  On the topic of signs it was encouraging to see a spike in returns when the reminders went up around the village although a little disappointing that so many were vandalised within the first week.

Before going any further I would like to thank all of the volunteers that helped to ensure every household and business received a copy of the survey.  It’s fair to say without your involvement and dedication it would have been a lengthy process indeed.

The next Step

The whole project has numerous stages to pass through and this survey was a big milestone in that journey.  Over the coming weeks all the responses will be databased, analysed and discussed by the Steering Committee.  Once this has been done the overarching themes for more detailed community consultation will be formed.  It is at this point that everyone will have another chance to give their views on what the visions for Alresford should be.

On a final note I just want thank each and every one of you that took the time to complete the survey – the Neighbourhood Plan can’t happen without hearing your voices, so thank you.
