BLF Breathe Easy Colchester:-

 

is a local group providing support for people with any type of lung condition, ranging from asthma and bronchitis to emphysema and lung cancer.

It is one of the more than 100 local groups which make up the British Lung Foundation (BLF) support network.

The group is run by people with chronic lung disease for people with chronic lung disease. Also on our committee are specialist respiratory healthcare professionals who offer valuable help and advice.

Our aim is to provide support, practical information, and friendship to anyone affected by lung disease - those who have a lung condition, their relatives, friends and carers. (Many people with a lung condition feel is  lonely, misunderstood illnes, often  appearing  to others to be very fit and well).

We also therefore work to raise awareness of lung disease and to promote a greater understanding of the problems it can cause. Our regular meetings and activities provide a friendly atmosphere for people to meet and talk, find out more about their lung condition, participate in promoting awareness of lung disease, campaigning, fundraising, and social events.

Introducing Clair Evans who is BLF's Development Officer for the London & South Region 

 

Clair has previously worked for Scope and Turning Point, and is really excited by charities and the interesting and inspiring people you meet when working in the charity sector.

After studying Law at Cardiff University, Clair started working for Scope and later moved to Turning Point, both in positions at Head Office working with the Board of Trustees


In her spare time, Clair is a trustee of a charity herself - an activity centre for kids with learning disabilities, she enjoys yoga and running, reading good books, experimental cooking and spending as much time as possible on her allotment
