Born in Iron Monger Row ,Finsbury, East London in 1936 I am a self taught artist and have attended workshops at Flatford , Dedham, also residential courses with professional artists Mo Teeuw, Brian Ryder, John Shave, Keith Morton and also workshops with Ian McMannus.
I have had a painting ‘Tower Bridge at Night’ published in the SAA’s Paint Magazine, and exhibited at various selected exhibitions, successfully selling paintings. I have also had my own solo exhibitions.
I like boaty paintings including lovely wet mud full of colour and life. This of course leads me to my love of seascapes, but I also like landscapes and street scenes.
I have been a member of Bishop’s Stortford Art Society for over 20 years. During that time I have carried out key roles including Programme secretary , Exhibition and Publicity Officer, and chairman. I am currently President of the society. also acting membership secretary.
