.Prosecution for speeding

CHA Byelaw No 6 - SPEED LIMITS

In January of this year [2019] The Crouch Harbour Authority [CHA] successfully prosecuted 2 persons for separate breaches of CHA Byelaw No 6 SPEED LIMITS.

The incidents took place during late summer 2018 within the maximum of 8 knots speed limit zone within the Burnham Fairway.

The cases were heard at Chelmsford Magistrates Court.  Both defendants pleaded guilty to the charge and were both issued with fines and court costs.

Airborne Flashes from Shoebury range

On Wednesday 13 and Thursday 14 March 2019, from approximately 09:00hrs, QinetiQ will be carrying out activities at the Shoeburyness Range on behalf of the MOD, which may be visible in the vicinity of the Thames Estuary.

 The activity involves the use of airborne munitions which are designed to illuminate large areas and therefore, members of the public may report repeated observation of distress signals/flares or similar up to 3km out to sea.
