Hello, and welcome to my Website
My name is Barry Aspinell, and I have been a CountyCouncillor for the last three years. I have also been a Brentwood Borough Councillor for the last thirty years. I know my photograph depicts a much younger, virile image but I can assure you that thirty years of local Government has taken its toll! I am a member of the Essex Fire Authority, which I thoroughly enjoy as I was a serving fire fighter in the London Fire Brigade for some twenty years - a long time ago.
I am also a member of the Pilgrims Hatch Environmental Partnership, which is a association of community based local activists, church members and local councillors, who are dedicated to improve the environment of the Pilgrims Hatch area.
Please check out the links on the left-hand side of this page which will take you through to current news and events, the authorities and associated bodies I am a member of as well as providing a weekly update of my activities. I have called my update link ‘A Year in the Life of a CountyCouncillor’ and it will start from the 8th May Annual Council this year, and carry on through to May, 2013. There will be a weekly update of all Committees, Boards and Panels I serve on and all other matters concerning my elected responsibilities.
I hope you find this site interesting, informative and worthy of your time. My aim is to make it clear what a County Councillor’s responsibilities are, and the time spent in that capacity. I will also be posting my monthly allowances and expenses together with details of any sustenance I may have whilst at County Hall.
My contact details are provided through the 'Contact details' link on the left, and if there is any way I can help you in my various roles then please do not hesitate to get in touch.
I look forward to hearing from you
County Councillor Barry Aspinell
