We are pleased to report following updates in regards to CNS Earthquake Rebuild Project. On 2nd of February CNS managed to transfer GBP7500, the first installment, to the beneficiary Shree Himalaya Higher Secondary School, Saurpani in Gorkha Nepal.
The representative and International Coordinator UK of the school rebuild project Councillor Bishnu Gurung, London Borough of Hounslow and project building committee secretary Thakur Paneru confirmed receiving of money stating Nepalese Ruppees (NRs) 9,87,736 was deposited to beneficiary's school account.
The UK rep reported that CNS help inspired and attracted Gorkha based Gurkha Welfare Centre fund in completion of the remainder of projected building.
In addition to above, GBP 476 equivalent NRs 63,455.56 expense was settled in clearance of custom at the Tribhuwan International Airport (TIA) in Nepal for clothes kindly donated by the generous local people of Essex and Suffolk. Sahash Nepal, an INGO supported and coordinated in distribution.
On Sunday 27 December 2015, CNS Earthquake Rebuild Project Committee Capt (Ret'd) Umesh K Pun and Mr Kumar Shrestha reported their findings before the CNS office bearers and general members present.
The team included six scholl buildings which they considered the most appropriate in their report.
The final selection of project went on to Himalaya Uchcha Madhyamik Bidhyalaya in Saurepani. Rebuilding of this building will provide facility of higher secondary school in between two VDCs Saurpani and Swanraa serving up to 600 students in total.
