Engaging with Essex County Council is set to become easier with the launch of a one stop shop for local democracy.

EssexViews has been designed to fuse all online activity into a single community portal, which will increase online democratic engagement and give residents the opportunity to stay informed about local democracy from the comfort of their own home.

Launched earlier this week, this online community space provides information about new council services as well as offering unique insights into the working lives of locally-elected representatives.

It also means that people can become more involved in the local decision making process through the links on the site to the EngageEssex consultation portal.

Kevin Bentley, Deputy Cabinet Member to The Leader said: "Essex County Council is constantly looking for innovative ways to communicate and engage with its citizens.  For this reason we are pleased to be launching the EssexViews website which will provide citizens with a one stop shop for council news".

"A growing proportion of Essex citizens now want to get their information online and it is crucial that councils respond. Essex County Council is constantly striving to provide people with what they want.  We hope citizens will take advantage of this new site and learn more about the services the council provides to better the lives of Essex residents".
