High Roding Parish Council
Highwood Parish Council serves the Parishioners of Highwood.
We are a friendly and welcoming carpet bowls club who meet every Thursday at the Highwoods Sports Centre. As well as featuring strongly in the local winter and summer leagues we also offer a well attended club night with six carpets in use and arrange a number of club competitions and fun days throughout the year.
The Hockley and District Horticultural Society are a friendly community group. We run a trading hut at the rear of Hawkwell Village Hall. Trading Hut Opening Times: Sundays. 10.00 a.m.-12.00 noon February - October Spring and Autumn shows held at Hawkwell Parish Hall - open to everyone. New members always welcome!
A friendly community parent and toddler group, held at the Old Firestation, Hockley, on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings, 09.30 - 11.30am. A great opportunity to meet new people and for children to socialise and have fun with other children.
Hockley Parish Council manages a hall for the use of residents, litter picking in the town, and maintenance of play areas and open spaces.
The Hockley Residents Association is a non-political association set up to enhance and protect the quality of life for Hockley's residents.
New Hockley Village Women's Institute A brand new daytime Women's Institute has opened in Hockley. Meetings are held on the 3rd Friday of every month at the Old Firestation (opposite Hockley Library) from 10am - 12pm. They are looking for new members aged 18-118! Everyone welcome!
The Residents' Association is very active in facilitating and supporting residents of all ages in Holland on Sea
Home-Start is a voluntary organisation committed to promoting the welfare of families with at least one child under 5 years of age. Volunteers offer regular support, friendship and practical help to families under stress, in their own homes, helping to prevent family crisis and breakdown. We provide this service for families within the Braintree District.
A place for the over 50's of the Parish of Hullbridge to meet and socialise.
The Hullbridge Gardens Association was formed over 60 years ago as a local response to the ‘dig for victory’ campaign to enable like minded people to express & develop their interest in home grown vegetables, fruit & flowers. It now operates a local gardening shop (see opening times), runs an annual Flower/vegetable show plus supports the local allotment group.
The association is a non profit making organisation acting as agent for the Crouch Harbour Authority. The mooring area dries at low tide & boats must be able to take the ground. Boat length is restricted by the Harbour Authority to 9 metres max. Mooring holders are responsible for setting & maintaining the mooring mooring alloted to them.
Local Government - Hullbridge Parish Council is made of 13 Councillors and the Village has a population of 7,300 residents.
An initiative to raise awareness and enhance enjoyment of the rich and diverse heritage within an area of around 450 square miles of northwest Essex, northeast Hertfordshire and south Cambridgeshire, at the same time strengthening the protection of that heritage through a holistic approach.
A lively Circle Dance group for 40+ at St Peter’s Church Hall, Hutton on Wednesday afternoons during term time. With folk dances and music from around the world, circle dance is a great way to gently improve fitness and have fun. There are no complicated moves and you don’t need a partner.
WEA Ilford Branch is a lively branch offering five daytime and evening classes in Gants Hill for adults in Ilford and surrounding areas (including Essex), tutored by highly qualified and experienced tutors. The branch has an annual coach trip, study weekend and social events. All our venues are served by good transport links.

Jaywick Local History Society is a friendly group who's members share a common interest in the history of the little Essex resort of Jaywick and the local area. We enjoy finding out about the history of our seaside village, and sharing the information we find.
Jazzercise is a 60-minute class incorporating cardio, strength, and stretch moves for a total body workout. We’ve taken moves from hip-hop, yoga, Pilates, kick-boxing, and resistance training and bundled them into one hour. All ages, levels, and sizes welcome.
