VACANCY FOR A COUNCILLOR

A Vacancy has arisen on the Parish Council due to the resignation of Edward Williamson.

If you would like to be considered for co-option on to the Council please apply in writing with a brief description of yourself and your interests to the Clerk to the Council at 2 Clinton Close by 20th. June, 2008.

Who can be a Parish Councillor?

Anyone who is:

  • willing to stand for election;
  • 18 years of age or over;
  • a citizen of the UK, the Commonwealth or the European Union;
  • not disqualified from standing for election;

and is either

  • a local government elector for the Parish; or
  • has occupied land or property in the Parish for the last 12 months; or
  • has had principal or only place of work in the Parish for the last 12 months; or
  • has lived in the Parish, or within 4.8 kilometres (3 miles) of its boundary, for the last 12 months.
