Criminal Activity March 2007
Please be vigilant. Recently, there has been an upsurge in criminal activity. Reported crimes include items stolen from cars in Ashley Green; a satnav stolen from a car in Abbeyfields: a bogus caller tricking his way into a house in Old Church Road by purporting to be visiting a neighbour who was out and asking to wait inside; and an unlicensed door-to-door salesman offering cheap vodka.
Remember to
lock your car even when parked on your drive,
remove all evidence of your satnav from the car when it is unattended, including the window sticker,
ask for indentification from anyone wanting to come into your house:bogus callers always have a very plausible story.
inform the police of anyone selling alcohol door-to-door, and of anyone selling door-to-door without a pedlar's licence.
