ELMSTEAD MARKET COMMUNITY HALL ACTION TEAM  (EMCHAT)

Following last months introduction, we have made some progress towards our new Community Centre but there is a very long way to go !!

We expect it to take three or four years  We have indentified four possible sites, two on the same side of the main road as we are now, and two on the north side (the village green side).  We have also established a guide for the size that we should be considering for the new centre.  We have done this by analysing others that have recently been built in villages of a similar size to ours.  We are planning for about half as big again as our current hall.

Negotiations are under way with the landowners of three of the sites, the fourth one being the site we currently occupy.

Once we have secured a site, we intend to produce an initial scheme and conduct a feasibility study to be clear about just what we need to do to make it happen.

I list below the details of the members of the team.  Feel free to approach any of us if you have a comment to make, or a question to ask.  Its early days but we will do our best.

If anyone feels that they have any particular expertise that they can offer the team do please speak to us - the journey will be long, exciting and busy.  We will need all the help and a co-operation from the community that we can muster.
