Travellers Site – Bernard Jenkin, MP Visit
A big thank you to all residents who turned up to support our meeting with Bernard Jenkin MP to oppose the travellers site on Clacton Road. We continue to discuss this with Tendring District Council and are awaiting the full planning application to be submitted after which we will inform you of how you can continue to support our opposition to this site.
South Green (nr FV and Mr Pool)
We have previously advised residents we are concerned about the state of repair of this area. We would like to consider adopting this area of land and making good the potholes and general issues with the road. Your comments and suggestions would be greatly appreciated via the Parish Clerk.
New Road Crossing (nr Oatlands)
We have made some progress in getting Essex County Council Highways to make this a recognised priority in their annual planning but we do need residents to support this action and to provide us with letters of support / details of incidents or hardship as a result of having to cross a very busy road to get to the other side / bus stop etc. Please support us in this by passing letters of support via the Parish Clerk.
Bus Shelter – North Green
This has been ordered and we expect it to be installed very shortly.
Old School Lane Playground
Hopefully residents will have noticed that this area has been completely refurbished and tidied up.
Village Footpaths
Thank you to all residents who have volunteered to help clear the various footpaths around the village – this is greatly appreciated.
Road Signs
Further upgrading of village roadsigns will take place shortly including adding Elmcroft to the road sign at the start of Holly Way and for a new ‘No Through Road’ sign to be positioned in Church Road.
Best Kept Garden Competition
We will be restoring this popular annual event for 2009.
Please look out for further details shortly. These will be posted on the village noticeboards and in the next edition of Upmarket.
Parish Council Meetings – You Are Welcome!
We would like to remind all residents of a very warm welcome to attend and contribute to our monthly parish council meetings. These are held on the third Thursday of every month from 7.30pm in the Community Centre. Dates and times are also published in Upmarket and on the village notice boards.
Please do join us.
