New Publication Launched

at EALC AGM - 23rd September 2009

It gives me great pleasure to congratulate the first tier of Local Councils on the tremendous contribution that they make to the well being of the communities in Essex.  This publication shows a small selection of the diverse activities undertaken by the Parish, Village and Town Councils in Essex.

Quality Parish Status is the national benchmark to which councils can chose to seek accreditation.  In Essex 48 councils have been accredited; 18 of these, to date, have been re-accredited to the new Quality Status criteria set in 2008.  The Quality Status is achievable by any council in Essex from the smallest council with less than 300 electors to the largest with over 24,000.

This Celebration gives a simple snap shot of the excellent achievements in Essex.
