NEW TRAFFIC UPDATES

A package of essential road improvement schemes is planned for sections of the A12 and A120 in Essex and Suffolk, beginning in early August.

Our programme is aimed at improving road safety and journey times, as well as enhancing the driving experience.

Highways England and its contractors; Interserve, Osborne and WSP, will carry out carriageway resurfacing, white line refreshing, embedding new reflective studs and upgrading safety barriers on stretches of the A12 from Ingatestone to Ipswich and the A120 from Braintree to Harwich.

Much of our work will require full overnight road closures and diversions which may affect your community. Whenever possible, it will take place between 8pm and 6am on weeknights only, however, we must consider weekend working as a possibility and you will be notified if this is the case through regular weekly traffic management bulletins when work gets underway.

The attached leaflet shows the individual schemes in more detail and we will be confirming specific dates and diversion routes nearer the time.

Highways England and its partners fully appreciate roadworks affect both road users and local communities, which is why we have created dedicated communications channels so you have the opportunity to ask us specific questions about the schemes in your area:

We are keen to work in partnership with your community to minimise disruption. To aid this process, please advise any key parish dates/events you would like us to take into account when we programme the work, together with any information you think it would be useful for us to know.

Kindly share this message and leaflet with anyone in your community, particularly local businesses, you believe will benefit from advance journey planning. To assist with this, please let us know if you have a parish newsletter in which we could publicise dates of the work, once finalised, as well as contact details and deadlines for submitting material.  In addition, could you please forward details of social media outlets through which you could publish information on our behalf.

RECREATION GROUND GYM EQUIPMENT

The Parish Council has funded FOUR NEW additional gym pieces of equipment. Namely Parallel Bars - Chin Ups - Ab Bench and Beam lift. These pieces of equipment have now been installed and passed the inspection. The equipment is for the older children and of course those residents who feel a little active. All younger children wishing to use these equipment must be supervised at all times.        Please enjoy yourselves and stay safe.

GRANT APPLICATION/S: Feering Parish Council Grant application requests are open from 1st. May 2018 until 15th. September 2018. Successful applications will then be allocated the monies in April 2019

The Parish Office is now manned by the Parish Clerk only on Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday morning from 10am - 12 noon.
