Local Photographic Archives can be accessed in the Heritage Room, which is manned by members of the Archive Group, on Tuesdays 1.30pm - 3.30pm and on Sundays 11.00am -1.00pm.
A changing series of wall mounted displays illustrate local events and the people that have formed a part of Galleywood's rich heritage. The Current display is A Virtual Tour of St Michael's Churchyard. Not-with-standing the archives may be viewed at other times by prior arrangement - Telephone 01245 357700.
We also stage, by prior arrangement, 'Walk & Talk' events for small groups, with an Audio/Visual presentation by members of the Archive Group, followed by a guided 'amble' visiting sites of historical and biodiversity interest on Galleywood Common and its environs, culminating in tea/coffee and a selection of home-made cakes from the Tea Room, when open.
The Horseshoe Tearoom
The Horseshoe Tea Room will be open every Tuesday serving a varied menu of drinks and light refreshments from Noon - 3.30pm. Further openings of the Tea Room will resume in March when we hope the weather will have improved. Telephone 01245 357700 for confirmation of opening before travelling.
Galleywood Common Footpath Petition
Please go to Breaking News and sign the petition to persuade Essex County Council to lay a footpath across Galleywood Common to link the Stables Nursery and the Heritage Centre to the Margaretting Road footpath at the Eagle crossroads.
