Galleywood Rights of Way (GRoW)

Galleywood is very fortunate in having a network of footpaths

and bridleways, totalling 23 km (14 miles). Galleywood Parish

Council supports a Galleywood Rights of Way (GRoW) steering

group which is fully subsidised by Essex County Council - Public

Rights of Way - Parish Paths Partnership (P3) initiative.

GRoW surveyed all of the public Rights of Way and helped to

produce the Galleywood Footpaths Map in 2004. Since then GRoW

volunteer working parties continue the surveys, carryout routine

maintenance, replace signage, construct steps, build robust plank

bridges, errect handrails, devise, plan and lead well

supported guided walks on Bank Holidays and on other special

occassions throughout the year

Each walk has an accompanying published leaflet describing

historic features and artifacts along each route. The series of

leaflets continues to grow and each can be downloaded from

this website, printed out and folded to form an double-sided A5

leaflet. Also download your copy of  the

Galleywood Parish Footpaths Map here. Just click on the

 appropriate link below-

Printed copies of the footpaths map and all walks leaflets are

available from the Parish office, Watchouse Road and both Galleywood and Great Baddow Libraries.
