| Whether you are a resident of Great Waltham, thinking of visiting or looking for a nice place to live, we hope you find something of interest and value here.
The Parish of Great Waltham is one of the largest in Essex in area but with only 2,100 residents is not densely populated. It consists of two villages - Great Waltham (also known as Church End), and Ford End, and four hamlets – Howe Street, Littley Green, North End and Broads Green. The parish is approximately 5km north to south, 3km west to east and at its most southerly is 7km from Chelmsford.
The major activity is agriculture although it employs very few people these days. Most local workers commute to towns up to 40 miles away and to London. The M11, the A12, the A130, the A131, the A120, Stansted Airport and Chelmsford station are not far away.
We have our own dedicated website where you will find details of parish, church, education, clubs and community activities.
Please feel free to have a browse round this site and take a look at what this parish has to offer. We hope that you enjoy your stay here and find it informative and light-hearted. Contact us if you require any more information:-
