Amazing Acoustics

It’s not the age of the door- the oldest in use in the UK- but the sublime acoustics that brings music back to Hadstock and to St Botolph’s Church for The Hadstock Music Festival.

Musical Director Bernard Lanskey of the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music, Singapore, notes that ‘there is something very special about St Botolph’s. Every detail of the music can be heard, and the space offers constant inspiration in sound’. Arguably the acoustics in St Botolph’s rivals that of renowned venues worldwide.

Prof Lanskey has arranged internationally renown performers; soprano Felicitas Fuchs, who recently sung in Paris under the highly esteemed conductor Lorin Maazel; Aki Sauliere, the Paris based violinist, en route to an engagement at Musikverein,Vienna. Also performing is Qian Zhou, violinist and Head of Strings at Singapore University, who joins us amidst a concerts schedule that spans the globe and William Coleman, a Berlin-based viola player having recently played Carnegie Hall, New York.

The Festival commences Sunday 20th June at 7.30 pm offering an eclectic selection of classical pieces which features a UK premier of the works of Andrew Schultz. Pieces from Bach to Britten will culminate on Saturday 26th June at 7.30 pm with a mixed programme featuring stars of the future from The Guildhall School of Music and Drama, London.

Audiophiles are urged to secure tickets early, owing to the limited space and the anticipated high demand.
