Rayleigh Library will be closed from 27th-30th May, reopening at 9.00am on 31st May while the self service equipment is being upgraded.

Followng an approach by the police, The Local Highways Panel have agreed to erect guard rails either side of the pedestrian crossing in Spa Road. Clearly this will not completely resolve the problems being experienced in the vicinity but will help to keep pedestrians safe. We would like to thank the police for their continued support.
Now the weather has brightening up how about entering your garden in the Summer Gardening Competition. There are four categories for you to chose from, Large, Medium, Small and Patio. Mrs Heather Brickwood will judge the entries on Sunday July 14th. Prizes have kindly been donated by local nurseries and businesses, so why not take the opportunity to show off your hard work AND win a prize. A new daytime W.I. has opened in Hockley. Meetings are held at The Old Fire Station (Opposite Hockley Library) on the 3rd Friday of each month from 10am to 12 noon. They are looking for new members ages 18-118. Everyone is welcome. If you are interested in joining please contact firstname.lastname@example.org
Following the success of last year's Diamond Jubilee Fete, Massive Youth Centre and 55+ Social Centre Hockley are holding another Fete on 2nd June 2013 starting at 12pm until 4pm to celebrate Coronation Day. Should you wish to have a stall at the event or take part in helping on the day please contact the Centre. Full details will be available on notice boards around the village shortly.
