Southend on Sea has an Anglo-Italian Circle which is the only Italian Circle society located in the southeast of Essex. It serves Italian nationals, Italian speakers, students of Italian and all those interested in Italy, its language, culture, literature, art, cuisine and history.
All those from the south and southeast of Essex or further afield are welcome to attend the meetings, usually held on the third Wednesday evening of each month except August. People meet at 7:30 pm and talks start at 7:45pm in The Leigh Community Centre, 71 Elm Road, Leigh on Sea, Essex, SS9 1SP.
Non-speakers of Italian are also welcomed. Help is given to newcomers whom The Circle hopes will continue to come and start to learn and love Italian and all that it represents. Some lectures about Italy are given in English.
