News - From Chairman
LAMBOURNE PARISH COUNCIL Clive EnkelOn behalf of the Parish, my fellow councillors and I wish to convey our sincere condolences to the family and friends of Clive Enkel. The community was deeply shaken by his dreadful ordeal and tragic death and would like to acknowledge the sensitivity and high profile maintained by the police in respect of this case.
New Bus ServiceA new bus service will commence on Monday 3 November 2008. Service 575, operated by Blue Triangle, will run one return journey Monday to Friday, leaving Epping High Street at 9.30 and calling at Debden, Abridge, Passingford Bridge, Stapleford Abbotts, Havering Atte Bower, arriving in Romford Rail Station at 10.22 and then travelling non stop to Lakeside Shopping Centre arriving at 11.05. The return journey will leave Lakeside Shopping Centre at 13.15, arrive at Romford Rail Station at 14.00 and Epping High Street at 14.44.
Abridge Village Hall Infants Play AreaIt was good to see, despite the damp conditions so many people attend the grand opening on 7 October 08 and witness our youngest residents open and christen the playground. We are hopeful that the reinstatement of the grass area damaged by the installers will soon be restored to its pre-installation condition and thus eradicate muddy conditions. It was also encouraging to receive so much positive feedback and seeing the playground being regularly used and do hope it will be enjoyed and cherished for years to come. As Lambourne Parish Council do not own the site, we owe a debt of gratitude to The Abridge Village Hall Trustees who not only made a significant donation towards the cost as did Grange Farm Centre Trust, but who also granted us a licence to use their grounds and helped us project manage the scheme.
Proposed Gypsy & Travellers Sites.
Lambourne Parish Councillors are aware of your concerns and will be attending a District Council liaison meeting on 5 November 2008 to be brought up to date with the latest developments. To this end, I give notice of an Extraordinary Parish Council Meeting (with just this subject on the agenda) to take place at 8pm on Wednesday 12 November 2008 at Abridge Village Hall with members of the public cordially invited to attend.

The District Council’s Youth Development Team using qualified coaches are running weekly sessions every Wednesday between 5.30pm to 6.30pm at Abridge Village Hall Playing Fields. Places are still available for boys and girls aged 11 to 19 and all you need to do is turn up to enrol and take part.
Our next regular monthly Parish Council meeting is scheduled for 7.45pm Wednesday 19 November 08 at Abridge Village Hall and once again local residents are welcome to attend.
