Maldon Croquet Club is situated at Forrester Park off Beckingham Road, Great Totham. We have four full-size lawns and a small shot practice lawn. Members can enjoy the facilities of the Golf Clubhouse for drinks and meals/snacks. Full membership of the Croquet Club entitles you to 10% discount off purchases in the Clubhouse.
The Club promotes and provides facilities for the game of croquet in Maldon and the surrounding area. Croquet can be played by anyone and is usually played outside during the summer months. The season normally commences in early April and finishes the end of September. Initially, members are invited to come and join us on a Club day for the three hour session at a cost of £4.00 which includes a mallet hire cost of 50p. If you enjoy the experience, then you can apply to join the Club for an annual membership fee of £80.00. Members can continue to hire a club mallet at a cost of 50p. per. session or they can be informed of where you can have your own mallet handmade.
Club days are on Tuesdays at 10.00 a.m, Tuesdays at 2 p.m., Wednesdays at 10.00 a.m., Fridays at 10.00 a.m. and Saturdays at 2.00 p.m. From mid-May, there is a Club Day session on Tuesday evenings from 7.00 p.m. In the morning sessions, we play six games each of 30 minutes duration between 10.00 a.m. and 1.00 p.m. In the afternoon sessions, we play six games each of 30 minutes duration between 2.00 p.m.and 5.00 p.m. In the evening sessions, we play four games of 30 minutes duration between 7.00 p.m. and 9.00 p.m. Sessions will be dependent upon the weather and the numbers who turn up. Members can come and leave at any time during the stated sessions provided that they place their name peg in the game bag before the start of the next game and then remove their peg and replace it on the master peg board when they leave.
