Development of Lawling Park Hall

Mayland Parish Council is carrying out a ground floor rear extension and internal refurbishments to the Lawling Park Hall and is inviting tenders for this work.

Links to the following documents are provided below: -

  1. Drawing nos 2016/087/C01-06, as indicated on the attached Drawing Schedule detailing the existing and proposed building.
  2. The Specification of Works.

At this moment in time a structural engineer has not been appointed as it is believed the depth of foundations can be agreed with the Building Control Officer and successful contractor on site. However, a local firm is being approached to check their charges should the need arise.

The drawings are being considered under Building Regulations by Maldon District Council and obtained planning permission on 5 October 2016.

Ideally you should visit the site to establish requirements relative to the drawings and the specification. Access can be obtained by phoning the Parish Clerk, Jacqui Massenhove, tel: 01621 743551.

It is anticipated you will enter into a JCT Minor Works form of contract, with 4 weekly certified interim stage payments in arrears with, a 2.5% twelve-month retention period. These terms and conditions should be accounted when tendering.

Your price should indicate the break-down of costs against items in the specification.

It is anticipated that you will carry out the kitchen installation based upon a supplier’s layout or your own equal and approved sub-contractor.

Mayland Parish Council is aware that realistically the start date will be the first quarter 2017, however, allocated monies must be spent by mid-June 2017. Therefore, will you please also indicate the earliest start date, period of construction and completion date.

You are advised to check the parish council’s website for regulating procedures relating to quotations and tender returns (contained within the council’s Standing Orders and Financial Regulations,  http://www.essexinfo.net/mayland-parish-council/governing-documents-policies/).

To be valid the quotation should be returned by post ideally by recorded delivery, in a sealed envelope marked ‘Tender Return’ by midday Wednesday 14 December 2016 to the address below: -
