Local Policing Update

Dear Residents

THERE IS NOW A NEW POLICE Non Emergency  TELPHONE NUMBER 101

We have some burglaries over the last few months, please make sure you check that all doors and windows are locked before you go out.

If you see anything that does not look right it possibly isn’t e.g. Someone sitting in a car in your street for a long time - what are they up to? Someone knocking on doors and maybe looking through windows - what are they up to ?   IF YOU ARE NOT SURE CALL 999

May I remind you of the crime prevention advice noted below?

Home security

Please make sure that all Windows, Doors, Side Gates and Garages are locked when you leave your home.

Timer Switches

Please remember to set your timer switches to come on whilst you are out.

This can help deter a burglar making them think someone is at home. If you don’t have any these are ready available at all DIY stores and are not very expensive.

House/Car Keys

Please don’t leave your keys in view of a window or door. Some thieves could hook your keys through an open window or a letter box. Remember please keep keys out of sight.

Bogus Callers

We have had some bogus calls on the telephone please do not give any bank/card details over the phone.

Remember the person knocking at your door could not be who they say they are. Always check identification if people ask to gain access to your property to read your electric/gas meter or for any other reason.

If in doubt shut them out and dial 999.
