Tumblez Parent & Toddler Group
Tumblez Toddler Group
During the previous Months the Toddler Group has celebrated harvest festival, poppy day and Christmas. Unfortunately due to the snow our Christmas party had to be cancelled. During this part of the year we will celebrate Easter time. Later in the year we will look forward to the birth of a new royal baby so watch this space not sure yet of what we might do. Why not come and join us?
We are a local group which meets most weeks during term time. Due to other commitments we cannot meet up during school holidays. Our opening time is from 9.30 to 11.30 am. During the session we enjoy a cup of tea and biscuits, a chat and generally get to know new people in the community. It is very relaxed. A good time to meet local people in a friendly sociable way
At approximately 10.30 am we all gather together to participate in Rhyme time whereby the children are supported by us all to learn Nursery Rhymes. Sometimes we take this a step further and encourage the use of musical instruments to create a rhythmic pattern something which the children enjoy. The children are provided at this time with a biscuit and they have their drink.
Although we are a toddler group we do cater for new mums and their babies. We have a specific area for this, but it is still inter-grated within the play space so that all children are catered for. This is a time for children to let off steam get rid of those energies and generally enjoy themselves in a safe environment. There is a general supply of floor toys as well as larger pieces of play equipment. stridders, small climbing frame, spinning top, tunnel, rocker, s etc. We have just managed to buy ourselves a new child's play corner kitchen which the children really love to play with. Most weeks there is a craft activity with children enjoying exploring different mediums. A table is set aside for play dough, foam etc.
This group welcomes every one so please come and see for yourself what a local group can provide for your children's needs. Each session costs £2.50 this goes towards the hire of the hall and all its facilities as well as the Public Liability Insurance that we have to have by law in order to run such a group. Over time it also helps with the replacement of broken toys and equipment when the need arises.
To help raise extra funds some of the toys and equipment can be hired out within St Johns Hall for small children's parties (suitable age up to four years) at a reasonable price per four hour session.
