Welcome to the Ongar Allotments & Gardening Society (OAGS) website.  The Society  promotes all aspects of home and allotment gardening as a recreation so as to encourage health, education and community spirit.  We also carry out the Summer and Winter planting in Ongar's town centre on behalf of Ongar Town Council.  We aim to:-

(a)  actively promote allotment and domestic gardening;

(b)  maintain a close working relationship with Ongar Town Council (our allotment site landlord) to improve facilities, maintain sites, prepare allotment gardens for letting, produce publicity about leisure gardening and liaise on allotment policy, etc.; and

(c)  help new allotment members by introducing, where possible, a nearby experienced gardener to offer special help during the early months of an allotment tenancy.

Members enjoy a range of benefits, including

    • social events
    • visits
    • trading discounts at a local garden centre;
    • discounted rotovator hire;
    • cheap high grade composted soil improver

Membership costs just £9 a year for one Full member and one Associate member which is easily offset by the savings in seeds alone. For membership enquiries, please contact Terry Young on 01277 369577 or email him by clicking on this link terry_young1@hotmail.com
