Recent information from Essex County Council , Passsenger Transport as follows:

New Ongar Shoppa Bus service - Started 1 August 2011- SB05.  Provides a link for residents of Chipping Ongar, Birds Green, Beachamp Roding. Abbess Roding,  Moreton and Bobbingworth with North Weald and Epping.  

The service runs every Monday from Ongar.

This new service will stop near the new Ongar Health Centre and also St Margarets Hospital in Epping.   Click here to see timetable.  (Updated 01 May 2012).

Changes to Service 7 , Epping to Chelmsford

Re - New later service back to Ongar, Coopersale and North Weald from Epping Station.

In the recent Essex County Council Passenger Transport Area Review, a need was identified from parishioners for a late return journey from Epping Station to Ongar.  This will allow residents to return by public transport following a social night out in London.

Regal Busways have agreed to commercially trial an evening service between the two towns.  The new service will provide a late journey from Epping Underground station to Ongar, Monday to Saturdays at 23.55 (arriving in Ongar at 00.21 AM).   This will start on 4 April 2011.

In addition, the Monday to Friday 09.30 journey from Chelmsford to Epping has been withdrawn.  The journey can be made using Service 32, and changing to SM Coaches 19, 20 and 21 in Ongar.

The bus operator advises there are few passengers on this journey.
