Annual Town Meeting 2012

The Annual Town Meeting took place on Monday 17th April 2012 at Budworth Hall, High Street, Ongar.

The Annual Town Meeting was open to all residents and local organisations, 45 members of the public were in attendance along with Town Clerk, Aimi Middlehurst;  Deputy Clerk, Judith Cook;  Assistant to the Clerk, Marie Hatch, Administration Assistant, Eileen Gough.

From 7.00pm onwards local organisations exhibited table displays showing their activities with the community.  Participants included Essex Neighbourhood Watch, Ongar Bereavement Support Service, Ongar Allotments and Gardening Society, Ongar & District Community Association, Epping Ongar Railway, Jubilee Committee, 3rd Ongar Scout Group, Ongar Twinning Association, Everything Epping Forest, Ongar Villages & Voluntary Care, Ongar Millennium History Society, Ongar Photographic Club.

At 7.30pm, Michelle Gardiner, (Rural Communities Council of Essex) gave a presentation on the new community-led plan which will eventually become the new system for planning.

The formal meeting started at 8.00pm where Cllr Diane Roberts, Chairman of the Council, welcomed everyone to the meeting.

Light refreshments were provided by the Council.
