The Skate Board Park in Bansons Lane was officially opened on Saturday 5 December by Ollie Moxey, a member of the Ongar Skate Board Group, who has been closely involved in the project from the outset.

Councillor Keith Tait, Chairman of Ongar Town Council, expressed the Council's gratitude to all who had supported the Council during this time and paid special thanks to Mrs Mary Buxton and the Castle Farm Trust from whom the land is leased  and also the Essex Environment Trust who made a significant grant towards the costs.

Ollie Moxey said " The Park has been in use for some weeks and has met with positive comments from both skateboard and BMX riders.  It is good to see a wide range of users enjoying their sports alongside each other".
