Southend & District Pensioners Campaign is very sociable group running a monthly meeting in the church hall  at Avenue Baptist Church Hall, Milton Road, Westcliff-on-Sea, SS0 7JX. (The Cricketer's Pub is at the top end of Milton Road)  (Car park and disabled compliant)

We meet on the third Wednesday of the month, 1:45 to 3:45 pm.There we always have a talk from guest speakers on a variety of subjects. Recent examples are “The work of the Citizens Advice Bureau” and “Things you didn’t know about London”. After we hold a raffle and a lottery for members and families.

We are also committed to the welfare of members by keeping them informed of their rights and advertising by a monthly digest, activities in other places likely to be of interest.

Our campaigning is mainly connected to supporting the National Pensioners Convention in national petitions. One example is for care in old age to be funded from taxation as is the NHS. We also take up local issues such as improving safety in the shared space areas, CityBeach and VictoriaPlaza.

Membership subscription is just £12 per year which also includes Festive Tea at Christmas and a lunch at our AGM.

We produce a monthly topical information digest for all members, copies of the latest editions are available on this website, or from the Secretary Jean Howes 01702 341047.

We welcome visitors to our meetings, so why not come along and join us?
