Title Education & The VIctorian Poor

Wethersfield History Group

The next meeting of the Wethersfield Local History Group will be on Thursday 11th October, when our speaker will be Tony Tuckwell.
Tony came to speak to us last year about Henry VIII’s palace at Beaulieu Chelmsford and we have had many requests for him to return.  This time he will be giving a talk on Education and the Victorian poor in Rural areas. In villages such as Wethersfield, classrooms could be left almost empty at pea picking or gleaning times when there was a conflict between the needs of the families to earn a living and the demands for basic education

Meetings are normally held in The Pavilion, Hedingham Rd Wethersfield CM7 4BZ, on the second Thursday of each month at 8.00pm

£2.00 at the door to include tea or coffee - All Welcome.
