Flitch Way
Friends of Flitch Way | |
| The Friends group was set up initially in August 2004 to assist the Flitch Way Rangers with their projects and maintenance in the Country Park. As well as working along the Flitch Way Country Park we work in Garnetts Wood near Barnston, Tarecroft near Rivenhall, Levelly Wood near Shalford, Border Wood near Little Waltham, Black- water Rail Trail (Witham to Maldon Railway Line) & the Colne Valley Linear Park at White Colne. |
Since September 2005 we have formed a committee, written our own constitution and become a charitable organisation. Under guidance of the Country Park Rangers we tackle a whole variety of jobs such as coppicing hazel, pond regeneration, scrub and ditch clearance, rubbish clearing, hedge planting and Way marking path ways to name but a few. We try to visit one site for 3-4 weeks so that the task gets completed as our volunteers like to see a job finished properly before going on to the next one. | |
