Will be holding its annual Rummage Sale at Shalford Village Hall on Saturday 27th March. Sort out your unwanted gifts, bric-a-brac, books and anything saleable, please take them to the hall at 9a.m. on the sale morning. Notice to cooks, homemade cakes are needed too and always sell well. Walkers of all ages and fitness are invited to meet at the George PH this Thursday 18th March at 10a.m. and join Dave, an experienced leader, for a “free” walk of about one and a half miles. Relax for a chat afterwards with a cup of tea /coffee in the pub. Tel 01376 552525 for further information
FOSTAC’s Quiz event last Friday was a sell-out.
The competitors’ brains were challenged by questions set and posed by quizmasters Frank Easton and David Cobb. A Fish and Chip supper was served during the interval and at the evening’s end the winners’ table hosted by Lucy Tabor and Keith Gray each player was presented with a small bottle of wine. Just over £350 was raised for further improvements to St Andrew’s Church.
Braintree’s “Haiti Earthquake Appeal Concert”
Sunday 7th March raised over £2000 pounds. Amongst the performers Shalford was well represented by some members of Braintree Choral and Braintree Men’s Choir, The Benefice Choir and Dr.and Mrs Mayo.

At the recent AGM the Chairman Sue Morton welcomed John Pearson from Wethersfield as Secretary and Frances Lindsay from Braintree as Treasurer.
