Shalford Needs You as a Parish Councillor
Shalford currently has 7 Councillor positions who are re-elected in May every four years, current Councillors all stand down and reapply if they wish to continue. Any resident of Shalford over the age of 18 years can apply via Braintree District Council to be a local parish councillor, where eight or more apply a full voting election by residents will take place on 2nd May 2019 together with the local District Council elections.
Nomination Packs can be obtained directly from BDC web site which need to be returned Wednesday 27th March to Wednesday 3rd April before 4.00pm - no email - but handed in to the reception desk at Braintree District Offices', Causeway House, Bocking

ALL candidates MUST complete Part 1 of the form.
Part 2 gives candidates the opportunity to suppress the publication of their home address on Ballot Papers and Official Notices. Candidates are advised that there is ONLY ONE relevant area description prescribed in law, that is“Braintree District”. Should a Candidate request their Town or Parish this MUST be disregarded by the Returning Officer as it is not prescribed as in Law. The Nomination will remain Valid with the Home address being published.
