Galliard Homes Limited unveiled plans for a proposed 4,500 new settlement on Monday 18th February at Gt Saling Village Hall known as ‘Eco-settlement at Boxted Wood’ this really starts on the fields opposite the Blake End Arts & Craft centre and stretches away westwards.

Buildings will be designed to make use of the public transport links and additional entrance to the Flitch Way will be provided together with extra cycle parking at Braintree Railway station [showers will not be provided], four primary schools and one senior school to be provided.

Galliard Homes will invest in a car club to reduce the need for car ownership, with a fleet of low emission, hybrid and alternative fuel vehicles.

Studies have shown that access to a car club can reduce vehicle traffic by seven fold. Forget about Galley Corner and the A120 eastwards to Colchester, promised for 2020
