The Association was created to preserve and improve the quality of life for the people of Shoeburyness. An early example of this was the request submitted to the Southend Corporation by the Association for electric lighting in the High Street in 1949.
In order to enable the Association to represent everyone it was decided that it should be non-political and non-sectarian and has endeavoured to follow that policy throughout its life. Over the years the Association has continued to be involved with important local issues, campaigning for and against many controversial projects.
We issue a magazine twice a year, called the ‘Shoebury Resident’ and contact can be made through the members of the committee. Their names and telephone numbers are listed below to enable anyone to make contact and pass on ideas and suggestions for the Association to consider.

Together, we can make Shoeburyness a better place to live and be proud of our surroundings.
We are also on Facebook under Shoeburyness Residents Association. We look forward to any comments from past and present Shoebury residents. Also, any photos you may have which would be of interest.
