With extensive changes for our well being upon us, financial belts are undoubtably seeing a tightening. An essential part of Southend's community is the Assembly and urge public and organisations to embrace this platform so impending changes will be with consultation. It's imperative that communities have a voice.
If you want to contact the assembly, use the following link.
The Older People's Assembly is part of a thriving movement of older peoples' organisations throughout the UK. It has been acknowledged by government, the public sector and society as a whole that a radical change of perspective is needed if public services are to meet the needs of our ageing society. HOW CAN YOU BE PART OF THIS? By coming to meetings and giving your views on a variety of topics.
An Assembly of volunteer residents make up this group to address issues relating to the service providers of Southend and established in February 2008, this platform of debate is seen as proactive in the development within the community. Download an application here to become involved.
Taking direction from its members, an extensive list is the remit for the Assembly. Transport, social care and environmental issues all are within the grasp for this arena seeing changes and information.
Issues for debate should be addressed to the group for inclusion within 14 days of the proposed meeting. You can e-mail your enquiry to: members@southendopa.org.uk or download and save the form here, complete and hand to a member on the day of the meeting.
Regular meetings of the Assembly take place in the Council Chamber, Civic Centre, Victoria Avenue, Southend, SS2 6ER.
