For a Wedding Reception perhaps, or an Anniversary, Birthdays, Engagements, Retirements, Christenings, Dinner Dances,

Quiz Nights, Talent Shows, etc.


Our main hall is the BOWERS HALLwhich can accommodate in the region of 180 people.

It is one of the largest function halls in the area measuring 17m (L) x 9.7m (W) x 7.5m (H) (56’ x 32’ x 24.5’).

The hall is fully soundproof, triple glazed, has a suspended acoustic ceiling and a fully sprung wooden floor throughout.

There is also an Induction Loop for the hard of hearing.

The Bowers Hall boasts a full size purpose built stage with back stage area.

Installed in the Bowers Hall is sound and lighting equipment making it a perfect venue for talent shows and theatre productions.

Access to the hall is via double doors from the main foyer.

A serving hatch in the hall gives hirers access to the KITCHEN which has ample worktops and power points.

There is a small fridge, and cooking facilities. Any crockery or utensils, etc., will need to be provided by the hirer. 

Access to the kitchen is via the main foyer.

In the main foyer area is the fully licenced bar serving drinks and snacks for sale and consumption on the premises only

and is available for pre-booked events as required. The bar manager will also provide a catering service upon request.

NOTE: All UK licencing laws apply.

Monday to Friday the cafeteria can provide a catering service for those hirers wishing a buffet for their event.


The SPRINGFIELD ROOM is ideal for parties and small social functions.

It can accommodate in the region of 30 people and measures 5m >6m (W) x 9.75m (L) (16.5’>19.5′ x 32’).

The room has an Induction Loop for the hard of hearing.

The Springfield Room is located by the library.



The BOLEYN ROOM is primarily used by youth organisations and is also ideal for parties, business meetings, etc.

It can accommodate in the region of 50 people and measures 7m (W) x 12m (L) (23’ x 39’).

It has a small kitchen with a kettle and fridge and its own disabled toilet facilities.

The Boleyn Room is located by the library.

The CHELMER ROOM is ideal for meetings, seminars and smaller social functions.

It can accommodate in the region of 15 people and measures 4m (W) x 4m (L) (13’ x 13’) and has a fully sprung wooden floor throughout.

Access can be gained via the main foyer.

Next to the Chelmer Room is the ANNEXE.

This room is self-contained and has its own fitted kitchen and toilets and is ideal for children’s parties.

It can accommodate in the region of 25 people and measures 4m (W) x 5m (L) (13’ x 16.5’).

Should additional space be required double inter-connecting doors have been installed that lead to the Chelmer Room.

Behind the Annexe is the DAFFODIL ROOM.

This room is also self-contained and having its own toilet facilities makes it ideal for children's parties. 

It can accommodate in the region of 25 people and measures 4.7m > 3m (W) x 8.6m (L) (15' > 10' x 28').

The COUNCIL CHAMBER, located on the first floor, is ideal for meetings, seminars, conferences, etc.

This facility is only available Monday to Friday and can accommodate 50 people in rows, or 35 conference style

and measures 13m x 5m (43’ x 16’).

The first floor is accessed from the front lobby and there is a lift to take those who are unable to use the stairs.

The room has large whiteboards on two of the walls and there is a flip chart for hire for those that wish to use it.

The room also has a projector screen and a projector can be hired if required.

NOTE: There are NO kitchen facilities on the first floor.
