BREAKING NEWS
At the meeting of the Rochford District Council Eastern Area it was agreed that the Public footpath across the Stewarts Elm Farm fields will be diverted to skirt around the edge of the field to the south with the inclusion of a new bridge across the brook at Stewarts Elm Farm Lane end to accomodate buggies that frequent the village and to make it more accessible for the disabled.
This will be going out to consultation before this is finalised so if you have any coments to make this would be the time to make them.
Councillor Mr Capon is opposed to the plan because he is worried about the legality of the length of the path. The only sticking point is the legal length of the path as Essex County Council informed the Parish Council over ten years ago that it was illegal to extend the length of an existing path. This would leave Rochford District Council liable and councillor Mr Capon would like the District Council to look in to this before it gets the go ahead.
