The Smythe Hall at Stow Maries was built as a School in the 1920s. Further along Church Lane is the Church of St Mary and St Margaret.
Lieutenant Nicholls and 2nd Lieutenants Mouritzen and Milburn are buried in the churchyard,
as is Stow Maries Aerodrome's first commanding officer Claude Ridley who died as a Wing Commander, from natural causes, during the second World War
