Policy Unit Administrator. Fixed Term for 12 months (potential to become permanent).

The Policy Development Unit is a newly formed team with the purpose of proactively supporting and facilitating the development of Essex Police policy, procedures and guidance in line with all legislative requirements.

The Policy Development Administrator will assist in providing an efficient administrative service to the Policy Development Unit. Temporary IT Project Manager. Maternity leave cover for minimum of 9 months.

IT Development Unit, Corporate Development Department.

Would you like to make a difference? The IT Development Unit are responsible for the project management of all new and upgraded IT systems within Essex Police – currently including a mobile data device rollout to frontline police officers, the implementation of an operational data warehouse, and the force-wide implementation of a new combined Crime Management and Intelligence system.

An opportunity has arisen for a temporary project manager, to cover maternity leave within the team. Relevant project management experience is required, ideally in an IT environment, and familiarity with a project management methodology such as Prince 2. Good communication skills are essential, and the ability to take a strategic perspective, and be able to negotiate and influence to resolve issues. The successful candidate will also be a team player with strong planning and organising capabilities.

Although the position is based at Headquarters, travel across the county and to other forces may be necessary as the job requires for which access to a vehicle is required.

Divisional Delegated Identification Officer. Harlow Station, Western Division.

Your main responsibility will be managing the efficient operation and maintenance of identification parades. You will be required to operate and maintain PROMAT video identification systems, which includes recording and documenting video images of suspects and adopt the correct working practices associated with prisoners, legal representatives and other parties.

You will be required to prepare witness statements and attend court if required and ensure that records of Video Identification procedures undertaken by others are completed. This includes contacting officers for information where necessary which can be considered as a supervisory task.

You will also ensure that all computer systems, DVD players and video players are working correctly and available for immediate use, reporting faults and ensuring that repairs and or replacements are promptly actioned.

Applications are invited for the role of Force Forms Administrator. This is a varied role based within the Print Unit Section of the Procurement Department.

You will assist the Print Unit Supervisor in co-ordinating the control and production of new and amended forms. Duties and responsibilities will include maintaining, amending and updating the Force Forms Register, and also to maintain existing forms with a view to efficiency, standardisation, corporate image, quality control and cost of production.

You are required to have knowledge of forms design and layout and should be self-motivated, and possess excellent communicational and organisational skills.

Duties include undertaking research, indexing and providing effective administrative support, utilising a number of applications in support to Major Investigations. You will be responsible for providing effective administrative support to Major Investigations using HOLMES 2 (Home Office Large Major Enquiry System) and other systems in accordance with Force and National policy.

Based within Central Division custody suites, you will be required to care and supervise all persons held in custody, ensuring that all tasks and procedures are carried out in accordance with legislation and Essex Police policy. Your duties will include checking prisoner details, telephoning authorised contacts and dealing with enquiries regarding prisoners. You will undertake a range of administrative tasks and support the custody sergeant and detention officers.

We are seeking a flexible and reliable professional to take on a wide range of driving duties. You will recover vehicles involved in major incidents and collisions, ensuring that forensic evidence is preserved and deploy specialist equipment to crime scenes and events.
