The Catherine Bullen Foundation

The Catherine Bullen Foundation (formerly the Catherine Bullen Memorial Fund) was founded in the memory of Catherine Bullen, a fifth year medical student studying at Bristol University from West Mersea. While on safari in Namibia prior to placements in hospitals in Zambia and Tanzania she contracted acute gastro enteritis and died suddenly on 23 August 2002. The Foundation is actively involved in projects related to health and education in the Omaheke region in eastern Namibia. So far it has refurbished a borehole to provide fresh water to Omuhaturua Primary School and hostel, built a clinic at Otjimanangombe and provided kitchens and dormitories at the hostels at Eiseb Primary School and Omuhaturua Primary School.
