Project Victory

Project Victory are a group of parents looking to enhance and improve the play area at the Recreation Ground.  The Project Victory fund-raising group is being supported by the Parish Council.

The proposed project will consist of a themed Play Ship to represent the village's maritime History, and  family seating areas which will be situated next to the existing play equipment.  A strong focus within the tender proposals has been focused on the use of recycled/renewable material.  It is envisaged that the play structure will allow disabled access to ensure that all young children within the village will be able to benefit.

The project will cost in the region of £30,000.

Project Victory are looking for people to come forward and help with fund-raising ideas and generally be involved in project.  If you are interested, please contact:

What have we done so far:

Some parents held a nearly new sale in March 2009 and raised £250.

Sponsored Walk and cake stall - On 11th July, 2009, children from the local community walked around the Recreation Ground to raise money for the project.  Over 51 children participated and walked over 150 laps.  Parents donated cakes for the cake stall which managed to earn £80.  Sponsorship money is still coming in and will update with a total figure as soon as possible.

Letters have been sent to all local businesses asking for support by either a monetary donation or a prize for a grand draw.
