WCA Charirty Quiz Night Report 

On Saturday 2nd March at the Royal British Legion hall, Northview Drive a friendly, lovely venue in the heart of Westborough. Westborough Community Association held a Quiz night to raise money for Cancer Research and Royal National Institution. 

Overall a huge turnout of 9 teams which comprised 47 people! 

Results 

1.Team 5: Adlibs = 90 points
2nd. Team 1: 50/50 = 89 points
3rd: Team 9: Mixed Nuts = 88 points
4th: Team 3: Charles Angels= 87 points
5th Team 4 The quizzicals = 82 points
6th Team 10: The Baco Bunch = 81 points
7th Joint: Team 8: French = 80 points
7th joint: The Beedles: 80 points
8th: Team 2: Hot Shots = 71 points. 

The winning team of Adlibs got 3 bottles of red and 3 bottles of white wine. 8th received chocolate bars. 

Westborough Community Association would like to thank the residents and local business who donated raffle prizes from Anka Coffee shop, Kynaston, both Longthorne Chemist shop in Westborough, Argosy Toy Shop, The Lunch Box Cafe, Veolia. 

A huge thank you to Alan Haart for bringing the mic for the event. Corinne Andrews for doing the scoring and Jim Webb for bringing the raffle tumbler for drawing out the raffle tickets. Thank you to Carolyn Brooks for collecting the entrance money and Irene wWebb for collecting the raffle money. 

A big thank you to everyone. Overall we made £272 pounds which £136 pounds for each charity. 

Finally a big thank you for the Helen Forrest the manager at the Royal British Legion for making us feel welcome and for giving excellent bar service.

Looking for a safe place to socialise and take the kids ?

Look no further, come along any Sunday afternoon to take advantage of a month’s trial membership.

membership is £27.00 per year (£17.00 of that is for Legion Head office, our club subs are the £10.00) 

It is individual membership - but the partner of the member can come in with them by "virtue" of their membership. That includes "same sex" partners as well. If a couple wants to join individually, that's fine as well.

1. You must be a a paid member 28 days before the AGM.

2. If you want a form please email wcachair@gmail.com

 

3. All self nominations for Chair, Vice Chair, Secretary, Treasurer and membership and 4 other must be sent to Secretary Officer Mrs Irene Grubb by Wednesday 20th February.

 

4. No self nominationations on the night of the AGM.

 

5. Changes to constitution must be in writing to the WCA secretary by 13th March.
