In 2018, the CCG will be starting a Home First service that will offer more people the opportunity to rehabilitate and recover at home with support from healthcare professionals like physiotherapists and nurses.

If the option of going home from hospital is not right for the patients, other places in the community can be offered including an enhanced nursing home or community hospital beds.

At the same time as starting a Home First service, the CCG will also make some changes to the way surgical theatres and beds are used at Braintree Community Hospital. We will be looking to provide Orthopaedic surgery at the hospital and change the way beds are used on Courtauld ward to support this surgery
