Ardleigh & District Horticultural Society was founded in 1893 and aims to promote an interest in all aspects of horticulture.

Monthly evening meetings are held from October to May (but not in January) at Ardleigh Methodist Hall (Colchester Road, Ardleigh, CO7 7NP).

The Annual show in mid-August, at Ardleigh Village Hall (Station Road, Ardleigh,  CO7 7RS), is an open show and always receives lots of positive comments regarding the quality and quantity of the entries.

The society is a friendly organisation which welcomes everyone.

Membership is just £5 a year.  This gives you free entry to all 7 of our monthly meetings and free entry to the Annual Show.   You can join at any of the monthly meetings or at the Annual Show (for the next season).

Our next event is

Saturday 17th August  2:00pm-4:15pm

(prizing giving at 4:15pm)

Ardleigh Village Hall, Station Road, Ardleigh, CO7 7RS

(near the level crossing)

Everyone welcome.

As well as a hall full of exhibits to look at, there will be refreshments with lovely home made cakes, a raffle and a produce/plant stall.

Have a look at the 2019 Annual Show page for more details.

Why not enter some of the classes? You don't need to be a member of the society or a resident of Ardleigh to take part in the show. You can download this years show schedule from the 2019 Show page, which lists all the classes you can enter and an entry form.

You can join the Society at any  meeting or at the Annual Show.
