Tommy - There but not not there

On behalf of Elsenham Parish Council:

Following the 2014 ceramic poppies at the Tower of London, which represented the 888,246 British and Commonwealth Service men and women who lost their lives in the First World War. There But Not There, a national commemoration project will see the thought provoking 6ft tall Tommy sculptures feature at events across the country marking the 100th anniversary of the end of the conflict.

There But Not There project aims to ‘educate’ today’s younger generation, and ‘heal’ today’s veterans who are suffering from mental health and physical wounds, by raising substantial funds through the sale of ‘Tommies’.

Elsenham Parish Council are passionate about this project and are raising funds to purchase a 6ft Tommy that is to be installed at our memorial garden, for our Armistice Service, which is to be held at the Memorial Garden on the 10th November at 10.45am.

We are well on our way to reach the £750 target, however we would be incredibly grateful for your help and any donations you can make, big or small, so we can have one of these breath-taking statues in our village.

The Post Office and the Crown pub have kindly agreed to accept donations on the Parish Councils behalf. Alternatively your can make a donation directly on the below link.
