Elsenham Village Fete

1— 4pm  on Elsenham Playing Field

The fete is run by people from the village for the village, if we have any budding fundraisers who would like to try and sell some of their gifts or have games for people to have a go at why not come along.

Elsenham Fete Committee has three major aims……

For Folk to leave thinking …….That was friendly.

                                            Value for money

                                            I love living here!

We cannot guarantee the weather but good company and lots of people make the day worthwhile.

Due to warmth, commitment and hard work of those helping to make the fete happen, we believe we achieved that in 2017 & 2018………Aided by those who attended with open hearts and a  desire to enjoy.

We were blessed with the weather, the atmosphere was buzzing, and folk were smiling.

Thank you for affirming what we believe ………… It's great living here……

We are busy ensuring that we all have a brilliant time in 2019.

We are now well under way with plans for the Fete. The Tea Tent this year will be bigger and even better than last year and some really exciting stalls have already been lined up for your enjoyment.

Situations Vacant

• Organising team: We have a couple of spaces and would really welcome new people with fresh ideas.

• Set Up/Take Down Teams: We need an army of volunteers to help with this – if you can spare and time at all, early or late please let us know.

• Stall Holders: There are still some vacant plots but get your request in fast as they are filling up.

• Arena: We would love local organisations and local performers to be involved and show off their talents to the village.

Whatever you can do, we’d love to hear from you, so please call me on the above numbers or email to elaine.terry2011@btinternet.com Thank you

Would you like to get involved? Our committee meets about once a month leading up to the fete and the meetings are more like ideas sessions and everyone there has a voice that is always heard. The meetings last about an hour and we drink lots of tea and coffee and you might even get a biscuit too!

Our intention is to once more have lots of local attractions and stalls, with the emphasis on them being as ‘local’ as possible.

Whether you have been involved before or not and would like to join us this year then please let me know by  email. We would love to hear what you have to say about the fete and if you would like to get involved in any capacity. As I said before, if you can’t commit the time, but would still like to be involved, that would also be just fine – we would love to hear from you.

Our dream is to have as many of village institutions involved as possible and if you believe that would be a struggle for your organisation, please let us know and we will help in any way we can.

We once more intend to have a classic car section, so if you have such a thing, please can you let us know. It doesn’t necessarily have to be classic, if it is unusual, quirky or interesting then please get in touch.

Whatever you would like to see, whatever you don’t want to see, any ideas, dreams, intentions, hopes or anything, if you have something to say about the fete, then we want to know.....this fete belongs to us all! We can only deliver the fete you want if you tell us what you want!

It was pointed out by one of our younger members of the village that she felt there were not enough stalls that had games. However, we can only provide this type of attraction if organisations are prepared to come and put them on – so if you run a local organisation, please join us and make it a day to remember for everyone. You will raise funds, promote your organisation, make people happy by being there and support our village all at the same time!

We welcome constructive feedback, and offers to join in……..

Please do get in touch email - elaine.terry2011@btinternet.com if you have any queries, would like to help, would like a stall or just want to know more.  Look forward to hearing from you.
