The Sports and Recreation Ground was put in Trust to the Parish Council in 1929.  The Sports and Recreation Ground Management Committee are responsible for the day to day management of the facility.  Facilities include a Pavilion (for Hire) Skateboard Park, BMX Cycle track and basket ball nets. The local Scout Hut is also located on site.

MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE: Cllrs Marlene Broomfield, Georgina Burr, Anne Burrows, Lewis Mundy-Gill, Robin Weiland and Jeremy Dunn (Treasurer)

The Management Committee in consultation with the Parish Council are working on plans to regenerate the grounds. A Sports Ground Strategy document has been prepared by Shelisflyyn which outlines plans for the proposed regeneration of the Sports and Recreation Ground.    Plans include a new bespoke gate and signage wall to the sports ground to reinforce the sense of community ownership, MUGA (multi-use games area), 2 foot ball pitches, a cricket wicket, Children's play hill with seating area with long 'railway seats' and play diggers which children can climb on,  a 600m jogging/walking track with exercise machines located at strategic intervals,  a  zip wire, extended skate park, revamped BMX track and 3 tennis courts, extended car park and new pavillion.  A copy of plan can be viewed here.

The next stage is to have a detailed site and costing plan drawn up to help the management committee and Parish Council seek external funding through e.g. Big Lottery to see the project to fruition.

Plans are now in progress and a new Zip Wire has been installed to kick start the project. The MC are now investigating the installation of outdoor exercise equipment.
