999 - WHERE ARE YOU? - One of the problems faced by the First Responders Team is the difficulty in locating an address in the dark.  Could we please ask all householders to look at the way your house name or number is displayed.  Ideally the name or number needs to be on the front of the property and clearly visible from the road - This would greatly help all the emergency services should you ever need them.

NOTICE TO ALL FOOTBALLERS AND PARENTS OF YOUNG FOOTBALLERS - Currently, the windows on the playing field side of our village hall are covered with the imprint marks of footballs.  In addition, so are the walls in places and there is evidence that damage to drainpipes and gutters are as a result of careless enthusiasm.  Some of these marks are directly behind the goal but the majority are outside that line of fire, indeed they are some distance away.  Repairs are costly and eventually, when someone breaks one (or more) of the double glazed windows, will become even more so.  The more we spend on repairs, the less we have to improve the facilities inside or out.  Please help us to preserve our village hall by treating it in a responsible manner whilst going about your leisure activities.  In anticipation, thank you for your help with this problem. John Ahlin, Chairman VHMC

MAKING POTHOLES HISTORY - Please report any potholes to the Clerk or telephone Highways Hotline on 0845 603 7631 there is a new pilot scheme taking place in Harlow and Braintree district to improve streets using the latest highway repair technolgy.
