ANNUAL PARISH ASSEMBLY

Minutes of the Annual Parish Assembly held at 8.00 pm on Wednesday 9 May 2012 in the Village Hall

Chairman:            Cllr D Cameron

Also present:       Parish councillors - L Cook, J Heginbotham, T Horsnell, P Latham, D Merriday, A Pipkin; parish clerk L Fuller, Charlotte Fellingham (ECC), approximately 9 members of the public

1            Introduction of councillors and apologies for absence

The Chairman welcomed the members of the public, who needed no introduction to the councillors. There were no apologies for absence.

2            Minutes of the Annual Parish Assembly 2011

The minutes of the Annual Parish Assembly held on 17 May 2011 were agreed as a correct record and signed.

3            Matters arising from the last meeting

There were no matters arising from the last meeting.

4            Report from the Chairman

The Chairman of the Council, David Cameron, reported on the council’s activities over the past year. His report is attached.

5          Guest speaker: Charlotte Fellingham, Community Action Team Leader, Public Rights of Way Dept, ECC

Charlotte Fellingham gave a very interesting talk about the history and legal aspects of public rights of way, their maintenance, enforcement activities, and the sterling work carried out by volunteers. Her talk was accompanied by photographs which illustrated her points.

David Taylor, the parish footpaths officer, spoke about some of the work he does and the ROW problems he encounters.

6            Questions from the public concerning matters over which the Parish Council has control or some influence

There were none.

7          Date and format of the Annual Parish Assembly 2013

This was not discussed.

The meeting closed about 9.15pm and refreshments and social time were enjoyed by all.
